Although the title is in Maltese I will be writing this article in English. Actually the title means "When will we grow up ?". I took this as a quote from a local tv series "Fredu l-Fra" cause I think ti fits perfectly in this case. From experience I can say that such experiences really destroy a person, however I do not understand the psychology behind bullying. I do not know maybe the bully wants fame and respect from his friends by doing such acts ? I think that such students should not even be called students. Firstly because I cannot imagine them at any workplace after they finish their course and secondly a student is part of society's pool of knowledge and well such persons really should not be part of it. Enjoy being popular for a few days or weeks , now your life is ruined together with your police conduct.

The person who carried with him a small knife was also given a fine of LM50 which in my opinion is nothing. Back from Austria !!

Well, for all those of you who missed me I am back. It was a really nice trip , however unfortunately I got the cold there and I was sick for almost 75% of the trip. Knowing me but , this did not set me back as I still participated in all of the activities. I had a lot of fun especially wen we went in a mountain hut, up on the mountains in the middle of a forest surrounded by large trees. I will shortly put some pics on my flickr page so I will give you an update once this is ready so you can also enjoy :)

Austria here I come

Well I can say that I have been waiting for this for all my life, the opportunity to go to Innsbruck Austria. Firstly because it was my of my ambitions to see and touch snow, well and also maybe to throw some snowballs. From the last update I had from my friends there it seems that I may finally fulfill this ambition during our mountain trip.

My friends still think that I go on this trips for nothing. Well I reply with a big NO NO NO. These are workshops where one can learn, in both projects that I am participating in I learned a lot of things. I went alone on some trips and this was a great opportunity for me to grow and be more independent. I can go and write on this subject for ages however it is not the aim of this post, we all know that reading a lot of text on a monitor is boring and bad for the eyes. However the main point I wanted to highlight is that if you get an opportunity to participate in one of these projects/exchanges , call them what you want ACCEPT IMMEDIATELY and do not throw this opportunity away.

The Malta Ghost hype & L-Imsahhra

It is quite interesting the hype that we are seeing lately in Malta. Various radio stations have programmes regarding ghosts. We also have a weekly television programme on ONE TV every Sunday evening by the name of Imsahhra ( excuse me if I spelled it wrong, kindly correct me if it the case). I have been seeing this particular programme every Sunday and still I cannot be convinced that everything is real. I am stil la bit sceptic, especially after seeing last Sunday's programme.

Well the solution is simple go with them on one of their shoots and see for yourself. I would love to go but since I did not have that opportunity I would like to continue on the above comments. A friend of mine told me " Was that meant to be scary or was it a replica of Paperissima ? as we were all loughing out loud while watching it on TV ". So my position at the moment is that I am a bit stuck, I want to believe the things they see and experience but at the same time I cannot as I did not experience the actions myself. Can anyone comment about the subject ? I would love to hear your thoughts about it.

Flight Simulator X

Well for all aviation fans I invite you to prepare your PC for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator version X. I don not know why they named it X , I personally would have prepared if they continued with the traditional naming system ie: flight simulator 2002,2004 etc... For those who want to try it and get a peak at it , you can download a trial version from here

Well I did not try it yet as my pc needs a major upgrade to be able to run it so for now I am stuck with the 2004 version which is not so bad after all.

Well after months of no postings I am now back online and ready to start blogging again. Much has happened since Summer , I am now following the B.A(hons) Tourism Studies course which I am not doing great because I never had accounts, economics ,and the other B.Com stuff. Statistics is the boring show of the week. The experience is a very stimulating onea. We will appreciate further comments about this subject from Wizgha's blog.

The title is in Maltese as so I cna emphasize my point> It is now 11pm and for more than 2 hours it has been a warzone like thing here, every few seconds fireworks BOOOM. The reason ? Bormla are celebrating their centenary something realted to their statue. They are doing liek a 2nd feast. The thing is that all of these fireworks is too exagarated. To celebrate a centenary ok I agree that it has to be special but not in this way. I do not know where they got permission for such heavy fireworsk but it does not make sense. Imagine old people trying to sleep,. or people jsut coming from work trying to sleep and find this madness . This shows pure ignorance of the Maltese people especially from Cottonera. This is all jsut to say " we are the best, we have the best feast" the usual Maltese " pika".

I hate Maltese , you idiots you ruined our country and you destroying our our society with your ignorance. Many arguments arise between people due to this ignorance about feasts. Some result in even wounded people. I am not a religious person but I think that the first comandment is being broken here " Alla wiehed u ma ghandux ikun hemm alla iehor ghajri" we are not worshiping god anymore but we are jsut worshiping false idols. St peppu St cikku caf caf St Zeza Ta bubaqra St ........... Also fireworks are a sign of luxury and from my mlimited knowledge of religion I think that we should not give priority to materialistic things.

Well these were jsut points which need heavy thinking espeically from our church which is not the church we used to know but ratehr it is just like a normal Business, money machine.

Well it has been a long time since I posted but now I have some time to write something in my blog. I will try to merge a number of comments and opinions in this single post. First of all I know that AQA people finished their maths exams so I hope they did well, I am sure WIZGHA will succeed :).

I am quite concerned now about illegal migrants which are contaminating our island. I am not a racist person but I feel that the story is going way out of control. We barely have resources for our population which now reached over 400,000 we cannot waste more money to go out and help illegal migrants. It is not our business that they come on old boats which can barely stay afloat so if they drown well it's their problem. I am sure that AFM have other things to do. I beleive also that the goverment bought new patrol boats to have a more effiecient AFM. However these patrol boats are being used mainly for migrant rescues. The solution is , leave them to drown or let them reach Sicily without taking notice of them. The goverment also needs to put more money in the Health sector and reduce his expense in migrant rescues and migrant centres. The minister also has to stop saying that the gov is ready to build new centres for migrants. Come on try and go to Sudan etcc and enter there ilegally , they will shoot you until you become pulp.

Come on we need to act fast, the past few days already anotehr 100 migrants were rescued and brought to Malta, WTF let them drown.

Yes Malta bus dricvers need red bull sponsorship. IMagien the situation on 7th june at 6.30 am streets are empty as it was a national holiday and this damn bus driver does not want to move . we spent all teh way to bugibba going on Neutral gear.AN EMPTY ROAD he could have gone at 100km/h but no this guy went liek 30km/h. He was barely touching the accelerator. All the passengers started to get annoyed and all including me were showing signs of anger. However this episode was balanced when I cma back and took the bus Valletta to Senglea. The driver was I think in his 20's and we arrived in Senglwea in 10 min which is usually impossible by bus.

Norman lowell famous for his controversial speeches about illegal immigrants is to be charged wtih inciting racial hatred. He is due to appear in front of Magisterate Dr Giovanni grixti at 9am.

Well I think Lowell will get out of it without any trouble. However yes I think he is exagerating a lot now. I used to like his speeches well in the sense that I used to use them to laugh a bit. His latest speeches are becoming very boring.

Well I beleive you all know from Kenneth's posts about our weekend in Gozo :). We hadloads of fun however the person that lent us the farmhouse has a slight mistake in his site's name www.gozodreams.com should be www.gozonightmares.com. Well I will not go in detail about the eventms of our weekend. I had a lot of fun and you can judge this by Kenneth's and Marks'posts. I assumed many roles, Fumigator, chef, super market buyer, swearer, and torch man. Well btw about my small torch people it only lasted that weekend and till yesterday as it slipped out of my hand and kaput no more light came out from it I think the bulb broke.We havea surprise however about gozonightmares

Welll tomorrow I start my adventure at the Suncrest hotel in Qawra. I unfortunately ahd to cut my hair short due to the manager wanting short hair for the receptionsit position. Anyways It needed a cut as to freshen it up with new strong hair. I will be leaving it to get long after Summer. I saw my self strange in the mirror you know after months of long hair covering your face now I need to get adapted to the new look. I will inform you tomorrow on how was my first day there.

Exams finished at last

First of all today was my last exam PHYSICS A level. Well I think I may get a Pass the thign is that everybody either did not manage to finish in time or to finish they just threw answers . The paper was not that difficult I think , but the paper demanded a lot more than 3 hrs were needed for sure .

First of all thanks to all of those that supported me through these days .Sorry to all those that I maybe shouted at but you know i had a lot of stress on me + being nervous is my normal character. The time is now 2 am , I am jsut celberatign the first day of holidays by staying up late enjoying a nice flight simulator flight :)

Btw I would like to tell you the reason I write this blog in English. First of all I feel more safe writing in English as my Maltese spelling is not that good and also I want my blog to be senn by foreigners. I am not pepe , I hate pepe, I wish pepe would all go to hell. We are Maltese and we speak Maltese.Come on imagine going to Italy and hearing italians speak half Italian and half English COME ON ARE WE INSANE !!I suggest the goverment gets a method to flod Sliema and Pepe areas so we can start a fresh Maltese community.

Pepe people speak so as they think that if they speak in English they are of a higehr class and that they are to be respected, well for me the morethey speak pepe the more I hate them and wish themm SHIT. I know that I am using some hard words but we must do somethign we cannot let these clowns ruin our language with their pepe atitude.

You know I can't stand it anymorein fact during a maths lesson in JC I had to do soemthign we have a small group from sliema ho are always speaking pepe and I could not follow the lessons with them making fun of themselves with pepe behind me so iturned and toll them "WE ARE MALTESE AND WE SPEAK MALTESE" AND THEN STARTED TO SING "Viva Malta". Whenever I hear these pepe thing I jsut feel a rage inside me.

WE NEED TO STOP THEM, WE ARE RUINING OUR LANGUAGE, WE ARE MALTESE JUST GO TO # SLIEMA AND SHOW THEM THE PROEPR MALTESE WAY. We must be proud of having our own language.

Exams almost finished

Well exams are almost finished I jsut want to give an update on these exams :)

First exam for me was SOK, well I think i'll geta C I just had a problem with that damn Zen and the art of .... I hate it , I hate philosophical things I am a scientific minded person I prefer proofs of thigns by tangible methods rather by playing with words and themind.

I would like to thanks those who did teh geogrpahy paper this year as it was very easy compared to past papers. If we now look at intermediate pure maths well It was a wonderful disaster a sign of expertise in my art of cooking "Kawlata".
Computing I think I did ok however i am a bit afraid of physics.

Flight Sim

This article goes to all of you flight enthusiasts whoe like me spend hours on Microsoft Flight Simulator. The interesting thing is that when I was a little by I always dreamt of a computer game or something where one can go to different destinations. Well this curiosity became a reality when I was from 2 and my friend got Microsoft Flight Sim 98 but he did not like it so he gave it to me as he knew I was mad about anything that flies.

From that day my passions for flight became more powerful. Eventually Flight sim 2000 came out with further improvement, following came FS2002 and the last version is presently FS2004 which I like very much due to the hih detail and realism. Well it will take me forever to explain all details , i jsut can tell that this is a model of reality , that is you fly planes like boeings, well every plane that you can imagine exists on FS. Add ons will make it more splashing. recently I got the Add onn Scenery for Rome Fiumicino airport , it is liek a photocopy of the real airport trust me and also I got an add onn for Malta International Airport which is wonderful thanks to Daniel Chircop.

Gozo flights cancelled

It is an interestign fact that since the new helicopter service has been launched a numerous amount of flights to gozo have been cancelled. Well I think I know the reason. Those skyhigh prices will scare even the richest tourist cause it is not worth it to pay LM50 (LM26 FOR MALTESE RESIDENTS) to go to Gozo by helicopter.

I think also that the idea that tourists will be the main users of this service isa bad idea. Tourists prefer to use the Gozo channel serivce as they have a chance to admire the beautiful Med sea and also get an acitve view of the scenery while they get a passive view in a helicopter.

Helisureste we do not need you or well we would need you if you reduce your prices else you are going to have a flight cancellation routine every day. I think that they will not fulfill their 5 year contract as operations will not be profitable. I rather pay LM50 to go for a shopping day in Catania rather than to go to Gozo by heli

Well in a few years you will not have trouble with being stuck in traffic as you can use the flying taxi. A new sort of aircraft named Jetpod is being designed and will shortly be tested. In aeronautical jargon, a jetpod is a "VQSTOL" (very quiet, short take off and landing) aircraft, This aircraft can take off within 125 meters because a portion of the engine thrust is deflected downward.This creates an additional force pointing up, so that the total upward force exceeds the weight of the aircraft and the aircraft can take off.The inventors estimate a test-flight could take place in less than a year and a half with final certification by 2010. The plane is expected to carry up to 7 passengers.

The 78 year old German cardinal became the 265 th pope and chose the name Benedict XVI. Various people have their opinions on why he chose this name, some say that he wants to continue on the footsteps of Pope Benedict XV . Well no one knows for sure. He was elected during the fourth vote but there were some doubts as teh smoke at first looked grey but finally bells were ringing to confirm the " HABEMUS PAPAM" (we have a pope. Let us hope that this pope will continue to do what the beloved John Paul II did.

European Union Projects and comments

I wish to say that I as a student I am quite satisfied with Malta being in the EU. I am currently participating in such projects and I really think it is a very nice experience. I get to meet a lot of people from various countries. Last December i went to a Youth project called The PlayEurs which was in Lecce Italy. This project was about different traditional games of different countries. We went to different towns in the region and played these games in th town squares. Malta's games included the traditional "Passju" ,"Bocci" and other games. Well we did a lot of things together as participants and it would take a lot of time to write all the details. I just wish to say that if you get an opportunity like this do not miss it whatsoever as you willl surely regret it .

I think that there were mixed ideas when Malta was joining the EU particularly the culprits were the two Major parties especially Malta Labour party which tried to do everything to spoil this chance for Malta.

Our Fragile Body

It is very interesting to note the pure fragility of the human body. We are nothing, in a few seconds something may happen and we may end up in the famous 5 star hotel , St Lukes hospital. If you go there you will see an example in further details, our body is so fragile, so weak and so prone to disease and ifnection.

When one takes note ofthe life of starts or the universe itself we wonder , What is our significance in the dark area of space time ? Well the answer is we mean nothing. With a lifetime of 70 to 100 years ( This varies by coutnry , depedning on standard of living and other living conditions such as wealth and medical services). This subejct is a subject which can easily be considered from different point of views but I am not going into such detail as the purpose ofthis blog is to give my opuinion and general comments.

The world's population growth

As we all know the world's population is growing at a very fast rate. However in my opinion the main culprits are african countries. They lack family planning and they want children for labour. Imagine a family of 8 or more children. The earth's resources are already udner stress so a further major increase could be fatal for this planet. In 2000, the world had 6.1 billion human inhabitants. This number could rise to more than 9 billion in the next 50 years. Various geographers and population experts studied this factor. Malta's population can see a growth rate of 27.1% in the next 50 years or so .

Below are some terms that geographers usually use when studying population. Well I have to learn them as well for the intermediate geography exam :)

Birth rate: the number of live births per 1,000 population in a given year.

Death rate: he number of deaths per 1,000 population in a given year.

Growth rate: The number of persons added to (or subtracted from) a population in a year due to natural increase and net migration; expressed as a percentage of the population at the beginning of the time period.

Spyware and Spam destroying our pc's

I think that everyone of you has had spyware or spam problem. Well currently my pc is full of these and it is going crazy. My antivirus software is giving me a popup every few seconds with a trojan warning, my spyware program also and everytime I check my email I receive like 8 spam mails. The only solution is format. I tried various spyware removal software and spam blockers but still the problem continues. I don't know why they do such things.

My Catamaran Experience

Back in 2002 I weent to Sicily using the High speed catamaran service. Well during th trip from Malta to Pozzallo the sea was very calm and so we had no problems it was a very relaxing 90 minute journey. The problems came on our way back, the sea was rough and high winds didn't help at all. The catamaran started to bounce on the waves and well the persons inside including me had a "very nice experience". The journey took 135 minutes and not 90minutes. Obviously this is due to the captain having to reduce speed to cope with the raging sea. On the whole I conclude that the service is best when the sea is calm , but if you liek roller coasters than I sugegst you go also when the sea is rough.

We all remember the success g Thriller, well I think that Mr Jackson has the main prt in another child abuse thirrler. This time he is being charged of fondling Home alone's star Macaulay Culkin. A former chef employed by Michael Jackson in 1991 has told a court he once saw the pop star fondling child actor Macaulay Culkin.

The 46-year-old star denies a total of 10 charges, including child abuse.
Chef Phillip LeMarque, 70, told jurors he once surprised Mr Jackson with one hand in the young actor's shorts.

Malta's Goverment doesn't care about Cancer

According to research and investigation done by the European Cancer Research Funding which was financed by the European comission between 2002 and 2003 Malta was the only country from 25 states that did not spend even 1c on a cure for cancer. The UK example spent 398 million Euro, Latvia 122,510 Euro, Cyprus 134,993 Euro etc..

Why does Malta always show that it is the worst membr of the EU. Even the poorest countries spent the minimum amount but malta NOTHING.

Metropolitan Police chief Sir Ian Blair has ordered an inquiry into claims journalists drove a van carrying a fake bomb into Windsor Castle's grounds.

The Sun said the van passed St George's Chapel, where the marriage of Camilla Parker Bowles and Prince Charles will be blessed this Saturday.

The "apparent security breach" raised serious concern, Scotland Yard said.

St Lukes hospital

The local newspaper "Orizzont" this morning reportedthat 100 non urgent operations were postponed at St lukes Hostpital due to some problems the hospital is facing with lack of doctors etc.. I would like to comment about the fact that yes I noticed a slight lack of doctors in some wards during my daily hospital visits to visit a particular person. However I think that St lukes' service improved quite drastically during the years. Compared to some years ago I think the service is much better. Obviously this differs from ward to ward.

Rome's main airport ( Rome Fiumicino) is currently experiencing heavy loads of Aircraft trafic as more and more people arrive for the pope's funeral and praise. Due to this Malta's Local Airline Air Malta had 2 chartered flights cancelled as Rome's airport couldn't accept the chartered flights as it had no time for them. However the scheduled flights are still available.

The death of Prince Ranieri

Monaco's Prince Rainier, Europe's longest-reigning monarch, has died at the age of 81, after spending several weeks in hospital.

The prince, who had ruled the tiny Mediterranean principality since 1949, died at 0635 (0435 GMT), the royal palace said.

He had been suffering from heart, kidney and lung problems.

He will be succeeded by Prince Albert, 47 - the son he had by his late wife, former Hollywood star Grace Kelly.

The prince took over his father's royal duties last week.

A palace statement said Rainier died from the "broncho-pulmonary, heart and kidney conditions that caused his hospitalisation" The funeral is due to be held on 15 April at the principality's cathedral.

My Day

Well it is time that I write my daily routine. I have a busy life, well I am involved in various activites which give me great satisfaction.

.:.Morning.:.
The usual waking up routine, a force of attraction to the bed ( come on this is nature wanting me to continue sleeping not me being lazy). Still I manage to wake up , have a quick cup of tea and than catch and use the very efficient Malta Public Transport and go to JC where I start my lessons (everyday is different so I am nnot going to lsit my time table :P).

.:.Afternoon.:.
Usually the afternoon is relaxed. I usually buy something to eat. The menu varies day by day but the main favourites are Turkish Doner Kebab , Pizza and pies from Queens. Thans I go to the library to study or finish some work ( Well I usually use the library as a sleeping place also, come on that silence , those books it is tempting to take a nap)

.:.Evening.:.
The evening varies day by day also, Either private lessons, or raadio, or other activites that I do.

.:.Night.:.
I usually go to bed in the range between 11pm and 2am. This varies as it depends on how much I am tired or how much things I have to do before sleeping. Following this my body drifts into Dreamworld.

Millions are flocking in Rome to attend to John Paul II's funeral. Hotels, flights , everything is booked. I think it will be a wonderful funeral for a man that was one part with the whole world, not only the catholic community but all the world's nations. Let us all pray for his soul, for a man who did wonders.

Malta's environmental problems

In this post I hope to identify the various environmental problems that one can find in Malta and also I am going to llok at the world's problems and what can be done to solve them. This is a brief article for more details please refer to books

1) The first issue that i wish to discuss is air pollution in Malta. Everywhere we go in Malta , one can sense that the air is not clean we do not feel comfortable at all when breathing in areas like Cottonera, Marsa Guardamangia and other similar areas. Malta's traffic congestion problems are always increasing, cars in this little piece of land are increasing at a hazardous rate. The power stations in Marsa and Delimara are killers when we come to pollution.Let us not forget the incinerator at St Lukes hospital. This heavy air pollution is also leading to health problems,one must note the ever increasing rate of people who suffer from asthma. This problem can only be solved well not totally solved but minimzed if everyone does his part.

2) The Second issue that stimulates my interest is that of Waste Management in Malta.
If one goes to Bahar ic Caghaq one can note the severity of this problem when he is faced by a big hill which in fact is just a mountain of rubbish that has accumulated in many years. An example of Maltese creativity and love for the environment. In this Mass consumption world waste is a big problem. thousands of tons of waste are produced every day. A solution to this problem is the Principle of 3 R's , Reduce ,Reuse and Recycle. We fist need to reduce the waste produced than we can proceed to recycle and reuse the produced waste. This is also a problem where everyone has to do his part to help. Waste seperation is a good start to consider.

Google got hacked

The very popular search eangine google.com yesterday was manipulated. This act is suspected to have been executed by a Maltese hacker that replaced the word "Fittex" by bad Maltese words. This is one of the biggest hacking cases in Malta.

One must also say thatthis incident rapidly spread out around the maltese online community especially IRC channels. Some local newspapers also featured this interesting story . I think google got a taste of Maltese Sense of Humor ;)

Btw a hacker is a person that manages to get access to a computer system by implementing illegal methods.
